Freedom: a word so deeply ingrained in Western consciousness that it feels almost sacred. In individualistic cultures, it serves as the cornerstone of identity—the rallying cry for self-determination, choice, and autonomy. The belief that we are the architects of our own destiny rests on the notion that freedom is not merely a right but an essential necessity.
